Student Recognition Programs

Part of the mission of the PTO is to recognize student achievement and scholarship.  We do this through several programs.

Academic Achievers:  The recipients of these awards are chosen collaboratively between counselors and administration.  PTO funds and presents the awards that are announced at athletic events (football games and basketball games) throughout the year. 

Principal's Breakfast:  The recipients of these awards are determined by staff of Sycamore HS.   PTO staff members are invited to select students who have made a positive impact on their school environment.  Students and selecting staff are invited to a PTO funded breakfast that occurs 6 times per year.

PTO Scholarships:  Each year the PTOs in the Sycamore School District fund 5 scholarships for Sycamore HS Seniors.  Applications are open to all seniors for the three scholarships awarded by recommendation of the PTO scholarship committee.  The fourth scholarship is awarded by the Counseling Department.  Scholarship applications become available each winter and are awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in May.  More details are available here.
