Senior Activities/Graduation

Senior Activities/Graduation Information
Our Senior PTO Committee works on individualized yard signs that will be available at the High School for pickup at the end of the day on May 2nd. Each graduate will have at least one sign for their place of residence. Those who reside in two households can receive two signs. The last opportunity to pick up yard signs will be May 23rd at Graduation Rehearsal. The PTO will also be working with our English Department on “Senior Letters” which are letters written from each senior to a staff member in the district who had a significant impact on their life.
We will hold a Senior Class Meeting during Aviator Bell to review all of the need-to-knows for graduation, and the end-of-year events.
Seniors will need to turn in their Chromebook to the HUB on this date. Seniors who have lost, misplaced, or damaged their Chromebook may be prevented from walking at Graduation. All seniors are required to turn in textbooks by the last full day of classes to their classroom teachers. Any senior needing to take an exam in order to pass a graduation-required class will need to do so by this date.
Senior Launch Day! Thanks to the Senior PTO, banners will be made available for students to sign during their AVES Bell. Banners will be made for those attending post-secondary education, the military, entering the workforce or training program, or electing to pursue a gap year. Please wear apparel of the college, university, or post-secondary plans you will be pursuing. Students will also receive a fun treat that day as well.
On this day, we will take our official “Class Picture” either indoors or outdoors on campus. Seniors will need to report by 8:00am. Following this and a brief meeting, seniors will proceed to busses and visit one of the district’s elementary schools of their choice based on what they will select in an upcoming survey. They’ll get to mingle with students and teachers at those schools, and it is a great day not just for celebrating the graduates but also to inspire the future graduates of Sycamore. For those students who did not attend elementary school in Sycamore’s district, they will participate at Greene Intermediate School.
We are excited to announce our first-ever Senior Service Day! This day of service will count towards your senior attendance, so all seniors will participate. Please stay tuned for further details from your student council regarding the available service opportunities and the sign-up process. We look forward to the exciting opportunity to give back and leave a lasting legacy of the c/o 2026.
Senior Awards Night will be held in the evening. Those nominated for departmental awards and local scholarships will be notified in advance. For those nominated, there will be a quick rehearsal that morning. The awards ceremony is the same evening. More details will be shared in early May directly to those who are nominated.
